Lancashire Makers operates to showcase and sell the work from a collective of artists, designers and makers selling a wide range of original work within most disciplines.
If your work is original and produced to a high standard we would like to hear from you if you are interested in joining us. We will take a percentage commission from any work sold to cover the outgoings of the "not for profit" company.
Most people join us as Stewarding Members which involves serving in one of our shops, usually for 2 days each month, opening up and closing each day, taking payments and recording sales. Full training would be given and stewards are charged a minimal interest rate on their sales, which we keep as low as we possibly can. This option also gives you the opportunity to be really involved and feel a part of our organisation.
We currently give preference to those who are able and prepared to help in this way as being a small community interest company we rely on as many of us as possible to take a turn in manning the shops to keep our business going. no-one is salaried and we all take a share in the responsibility as an artists' co-operative.
Anyone agreeing to take on a stewarding membership would be able to choose which days and venues are most convenient for them and everyone submits their choices each month when a rota is devised and of course we make allowances for holidays etc.
Alternatively if you are not able to commit to this level of involvement we do also have a short term guest artist programme where we sell your work for you but in this case, to allow for our business to remain financially viable and to be fair to our regular members, we have to charge a higher rate of interest on sales, compatible with most commercial craft galleries.
Please complete the online form giving us links to a website/page or social media page where we can see images of your work as part of your application. Alternatively, email us with four images.
