Hi, I’m Sue Stephen, a textile artist from Ainsdale, Southport. I have been sewing and painting since I was a young girl and in recent years I have combined these two passions into one by using stitches to draw with and adding fabric for colour and texture. My technique is a combination of free motion machine embroidery and raw edge applique.
I make wall hangings and pictures, as well as cushions, bags, book covers and gift cards.
All my work is unique and handmade with high quality fabric. My original designs are based on my love of nature and pride in our local area.
I was pleased to be invited to join Lancashire Makers recently and some of my work is now on display in both the Churchtown and Ormskirk shops. I also have a selection of bags and gifts available at The Atkinson Gift Shop, Lord Street, Southport. I regularly exhibit my pictures at Crosby Hall Educational Trust and I am happy to take commissions.
