Lancashire Makers is run as a Community Interest Company by a group of local designers, artists and makers to showcase and sell their work and that of other creatives from the North West. The company is non profit making enabling participating makers to sell competitively, directly to their audience.
Members of the group steward the shops on a rota basis and help with the day to day running of the project. The two gallery shops are located in Churchtown, nr. Southport and Ormskirk within The Chapel- Ormskirk Arthouse complex.
The group have always featured guest makers while maintaining the selection criteria for quality and originality of work as well as a business like commitment to their art or craft. Application is always welcome, especially from makers wanting to fully participate as stewarding members.
The gallery shops feature a diverse range of inspiring arts and crafts including textiles, ceramics, glass, jewellery, fine art, photography, wood, graphic design and toiletries.
