Green Fox Creations
I am a 3D mixed media artist, living in Crossens Southport.
I have been creative since an early age, when my grandmother taught me to sew & knit. She was my idol & also taught me how to be frugal & how to recycle/upcycle many things that would normally be thrown away.
Over the last 30 years I have learned to knit, crochet, paint, stumpwork embroider, needle felt, polymer clay model & sew. I love trying out new craft techniques & most recently combining different crafts to create my botanical sculptures.
I was inspired by macro photography of insects and plants. Seeing them close up almost transports you to a new realm. I wanted to recreate these photographs into little slices of nature in 3D.
My sculptures all include locally found driftwood from the beaches nearby. I use lots of leather & fabric scraps that usually end up in landfill, leftover from shoe makers & upholsterers.
I am very pleased to be a guest artist at Lancashire Makers & hope everyone enjoys my sculptures, as much as I enjoy making them.
